Zelenogradsk is a town located in the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Zelenogradsky District and is situated on the Sambian coastline near the Curonian Spit along the Baltic Sea. The town is positioned approximately 34 kilometers north of the city of Kaliningrad.
Historically, the settlement was known by the German name Cranz until 1946. According to census data, the population of Zelenogradsk has shown growth over recent decades, rising from 10,786 in the 1989 Soviet census to 17,296 as of the 2021 census.
