Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky is a town located in the Irkutsk Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Nizhneilimsky District and is situated approximately 478 kilometers (297 miles) north of Irkutsk, which is the administrative center of the oblast.
According to census data, the town's population has fluctuated over recent decades. The population was recorded at 32,326 during the 1989 Soviet census, decreased to 29,093 in 2002, and reached 26,079 as of the 2010 census.
