Kuytun, also known as Kuitun, is a county-level city located in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang, China. It serves as a significant population center with approximately 285,000 residents.
The city is situated along the railway line connecting Ürümqi to Kazakhstan, positioned between the cities of Wusu and Shihezi. Geographically, it is located in close proximity to a desert region.
