Angarsk is a city located in Russia and serves as the administrative center of the Angarsky District within Irkutsk Oblast. It is situated on the Kitoy River, approximately 51 kilometers (32 mi) from Irkutsk, which is the administrative center of the oblast.
The population of the city has fluctuated over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 265,835 in 1989, decreasing to 247,118 in 2002, 233,567 in 2010, and reaching 221,296 by the 2021 census.
