Kizlyar is a town located in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is situated in the delta of the Terek River, approximately 221 kilometers (137 mi) northwest of Makhachkala, which serves as the capital of the republic.
The town lies on the border with the Chechen Republic. According to the 2010 Census, Kizlyar had a population of 48,984 residents.
