Gunib, also spelled Ghunib, is a rural locality located in Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Ghunib District within the Republic of Daghestan.
The settlement has experienced significant demographic shifts over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 2,405 during the 1989 Soviet census and reached 2,406 in 2002. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the town's population declined until it returned to its Soviet-era levels in 2014.
