Akhty is a rural locality (selo) situated in the southern region of the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Akhtynsky District and is located at the confluence of the Akhtychay and Samur Rivers.

The settlement is positioned approximately 254 kilometers (158 mi) from the regional capital of Makhachkala. According to census data, the population was recorded as 13,152 in 2002 and reached 13,405 by the 2010 census.
