Gubkin is a town located in the Belgorod Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the Oskolets River, which serves as a tributary of the Oskol River, approximately 138 kilometers (86 miles) northeast of the city of Belgorod.

According to census data, the population of Gubkin has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2021 census recorded a population of 85,225, following figures of 88,560 in 2010 and 86,083 in 2002. For historical context, the 1989 Soviet census reported a population of 73,848.
