Birsk is a town located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia. It is situated on the right bank of the Belaya River, approximately 102 kilometers (63 miles) from Ufa, which serves as the capital of the republic.
According to census data, the population of Birsk has shown gradual growth over recent decades. The population was recorded at 34,881 during the 1989 Soviet census, 39,992 in 2002, and reached 41,635 by the 2010 census.
