Severodvinsk is a city located in the northern region of Russia's Arkhangelsk Oblast. It is situated within the delta of the Northern Dvina river, approximately 35 kilometers (22 miles) west of Arkhangelsk, which serves as the administrative center of the oblast.
As of the 2021 Census, the city had a population of 157,213. Severodvinsk is characterized by its status as an access-restricted town for foreign citizens due to the presence of significant military shipyards. Visitors from outside the country are required to obtain a special permit to enter the area.
