Rubtsovsk is a city located in the Altai Krai region of Russia. It is situated on the Aley River, approximately 281 kilometres (175 miles) southwest of the city of Barnaul.
The city's population has fluctuated over time, recorded at 147,002 during the 2010 census. Historical census data shows a significant increase from 75,334 in 1939 to a peak of 171,792 in the 1989 Soviet census.
