Novoaltaysk is a town located in the Altai Krai region of Russia. It is situated on the right bank of the Ob River, specifically at the lower reaches of its right tributary, the Chesnokovka.
The town is positioned approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 mi) across the river from Barnaul, which serves as the administrative center of the Altai Krai. According to census data, the population of Novoaltaysk was 70,437 in 2010, reflecting a significant increase from previous decades such as 60,015 in 2002 and 9,000 in 1939.
