Aleysk is a town located in the Altai Krai region of Russia. It is situated on the banks of the Aley River, approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) southwest of the city of Barnaul.
According to census data, the population of Aleysk has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 29,510, following figures of 28,551 in 2002 and 30,309 during the 1989 Soviet census.
