Takhtamukay is a rural locality situated in the Republic of Adygea, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Takhtamukaysky District and is located approximately 118 kilometers (73 miles) northwest of Maykop.
The population of the settlement has remained relatively stable over recent decades. According to census data, the population was recorded at 5,214 in 2010, following figures of 5,117 in 2002 and 5,212 during the 1989 Soviet census.
