Zaječar is a city located in eastern Serbia and serves as the administrative center of the Zaječar District. According to the 2022 census, the city's administrative area had a population of 48,621 inhabitants.

The city is notable for hosting several cultural events, including the rock music festival Gitarijada and the ZALET festival, which is dedicated to contemporary art. Additionally, the nearby town of Gamzigrad is historically significant as the birthplace of Roman Emperor Galerius, who built the city of Felix Romuliana in that area.
