New Belgrade is a municipality located in the city of Belgrade, Serbia. It was developed as a planned city starting in 1948 on the left bank of the Sava river, situated opposite the historic center of old Belgrade. At the time of its inception, the area was previously uninhabited.
The district serves as the central business district for both Serbia and Southeast Europe. It is currently the fastest developing area of the city, attracting numerous businesses due to its modern infrastructure and large amount of available space. With a population of 209,763 inhabitants, it ranks as the second most populous municipality in Serbia, following Novi Sad.
