Despotovac is a town and municipality located in the Pomoravlje District of central Serbia. It is situated approximately 130 kilometers southeast of the capital city, Belgrade.
The name of the town is derived from "Despot," which was a title held by the Serbian medieval prince Stefan Lazarević. According to the 2022 census, the town has a population of 3,595 residents, while the broader municipality has a total population of 18,278.
