Periș is a commune located in the far northwestern corner of Ilfov County within the Muntenia region of Romania. The name of the commune translates from Romanian to "a place where pear trees grow."
The administrative area of Periș is currently composed of three villages: Bălteni, Buriaș, and Periș. Historically, the commune also included the villages of Brătulești and Cocioc, though these were eventually absorbed by other villages within the same commune.
