1 Decembrie is a commune located in the southern part of Ilfov County within the Muntenia region of Romania. The administrative area consists of a single village, also named 1 Decembrie.
Historically, the territory of the commune included the village of Copăceni. However, this changed in 2005 when Copăceni was split off to establish its own separate commune.
