Fundulea

Fundulea is an agricultural town located in Călărași County within the Muntenia region of Romania. Situated on the Bărăgan Plain in the historical region of Wallachia, it lies approximately 30 km (19 mi) east of the capital city, Bucharest. The town currently has a population of 6,714 and administers two villages: Alexandru Ioan Cuza and Gostilele.

The town's geography is defined by its proximity to the Mostiștea River and the A2 freeway, which pass through its vicinity. Fundulea officially attained town status in 1989 as a result of the Romanian rural systematization program.
