Crivat

Romania

Crivăț (also known as crivetz or krivu) is a north-easterly bora wind that occurs in several regions of Romania, including Moldavia, Dobruja, and the Bărăgan Plain. While it is most frequently observed during the winter months, the wind can also occur during the autumn and spring seasons.

The wind is characterized by high speeds reaching up to 30–35 m/s, which are capable of creating blizzard conditions. In addition to its presence in the aforementioned regions, Crivăț can also be found in the region of Brașov.
