Borcea is a commune located in the eastern part of Călărași County within the Muntenia region of Romania. It is situated on the west bank of the Borcea branch.
The commune was established as a result of the 1968 administrative reform, which joined the neighboring villages of Cocargeaua and Pietroiu. Currently, the administrative area consists of two villages: Borcea and Pietroiu. It is recognized as one of the most populous communes in Călărași County.
