Paltin is a commune situated in the Vrancea County of Romania. The administrative area is composed of five distinct villages: Ghebari, Paltin, Prahuda, Țepa, and Vâlcani.
Historically, the commune was larger in size and included seven additional villages. These seven settlements were separated from Paltin in 2005 to form the independent Spulber Commune.
