Fitionești is a commune located in the center-north hill area of Vrancea County within Western Moldavia, Romania. As of 2021, the commune has a population of 2,318 residents and is composed of five distinct villages: Ciolănești, Fitionești, Ghimicești, Holbănești, and Mănăstioara.
The name of the commune is said to have originated from the Fetion family, an old lineage of local boyars. Historical evidence regarding the area dates back as far as the Thracian Bronze Age.
