Călimănești, frequently referred to as Călimănești-Căciulata, is a town located in Vâlcea County in southern Romania. It is situated within the historical region of Oltenia and occupies the northern portion of the county.
The town is positioned at the southern end of the Olt River valley where it crosses the Southern Carpathians. It lies along a traditional route that connects the region to Transylvania.
