Poienești is a commune located in Vaslui County within the Western Moldavia region of Romania. The administrative area is composed of seven distinct villages: Dealu Secării, Florești, Frasinu, Poienești, Fundu Văii, Oprișița, and Poienești-Deal.
While all seven villages are legally part of the commune, there is a specific administrative distinction regarding two of them. The villages of Dealu Secării and Florești are administered by Alexandru Vlahuță Commune despite their legal status as part of Poienești.
