Chilia Veche is a commune located in Northern Dobruja, Romania, within the Danube Delta region of Tulcea County. The settlement serves as a geographical landmark that gives its name to the Chilia branch of the Danube River, which acts as the border separating Romania from Ukraine.
The administrative area of the commune is composed of four distinct villages: Câșlița, Chilia Veche, Ostrovu Tătaru, and Tatanir.
