Gătaia is a town located in Timiș County, Romania. It was officially declared a town in 2004.
The town currently administers five villages: Butin, Percosova, Sculia, Șemlacu Mare, and Șemlacu Mic. Historically, it administered four additional villages until they were separated to form the Birda commune.
