Dudeștii Vechi is a commune located in Timiș County, Romania. The administrative area is composed of three villages: Cheglevici, Colonia Bulgară, and Dudeștii Vechi. Historically, the village of Vălcani was part of this commune until it was split off in 2005 to form its own separate entity.
The region is primarily inhabited by Banat Bulgarians (Palćene), a regional minority group of ethnic Bulgarians who practice Roman Catholicism. These residents are descendants of Paulicians who settled in the area around 1738, having migrated from northern Bulgaria.
