Purani is a commune located in Teleorman County within the Muntenia region of Romania. It serves as a rural administrative division characterized by its local geography and community structure.
The commune is composed of two distinct villages: Purani and Puranii de Sus. These two settlements were originally part of the Siliștea Commune until they were officially split off to form their own independent administrative unit in 2004.
