Beciu is a commune located in the Muntenia region of Romania, specifically within Teleorman County. The administrative area is composed of three distinct villages: Bârseștii de Jos, Beciu, and Smârdan.
The commune was established in 2004 when these three villages were split off from the former Plopii-Slăvitești Commune.
