Salcea is a town located in Suceava County within the Western Moldavia historical region of northeastern Romania. It currently has a population of 9,513 residents and serves as the administrative center for four surrounding villages: Mereni, Plopeni, Prelipca, and Văratec.
The municipality was officially declared a town in 2004. It remains a primary locality within its county's regional infrastructure.
