Dărmănești is a town located in eastern Romania within Bacău County. Situated in the valleys of the Trotuș and Uz rivers, the settlement officially attained town status in 1989 as a result of the Romanian rural systematization program.
The town derives its name from one of its historical leaders, "Dărman," with the earliest recorded references to the location dating back to the 16th century. As of 2021, Dărmănești has a population of 13,069 residents.
