Șelimbăr is a commune located in central Romania within the Sibiu County of the Transylvania region. It is situated to the east of the county seat, Sibiu.
The village of Șelimbăr has a recorded history dating back to 1323. It is notably recognized as the site of the Battle of Șelimbăr.
