Bârghiș is a commune located in the northern part of Sibiu County in central Romania. It is situated within the historical region of Transylvania.
The commune is composed of six distinct villages: Apoș, Bârghiș, Ighișu Vechi, Pelișor, Vecerd, and Zlagna. Notable architectural features within the area include fortified churches located in the villages of Pelișor and Zlagna.
