Gherghița is a commune located in Prahova County within the Muntenia region of Romania. It serves as an administrative division composed of four distinct villages: Gherghița, Independența, Malamuc, and Ungureni.
The geographic composition of the commune changed in 2004 when the villages of Fânari, Olari, and Olarii Vechi were separated from Gherghița to form the independent Olari Commune.
