Bereni is a commune located in the Transylvania region of Romania, specifically within Mureș County. It serves as an administrative division composed of seven distinct villages: Bâra (Berekeresztúr), Bereni, Cându (Kendő), Drojdii (Seprőd), Eremieni (Nyárádszentimre), Maia (Mája), and Mărculeni (Márkod).
The commune was established as an independent administrative unit in 2004. It was formed when Bereni and six other villages split from the municipality of Măgherani (Nyárádmagyarós).
