Târgu Frumos is a town located in Iași County within the Western Moldavia region of Romania. It serves as a local administrative center for its surrounding area.
Historically, the town administered eleven villages until 2004. During that year, those villages were reorganized and split off to form the independent communes of Balș, Costești, and Ion Neculce.
