Platonești is a commune situated in the Muntenia region of Romania. It is located within Ialomița County and serves as an administrative division composed of two distinct villages: Lăcusteni and Platonești.
The commune was established in 2005 following its separation from the former Săveni Commune. Since that time, it has functioned as an independent local government entity within the county.
