Balaciu is a commune situated in Ialomița County within the Muntenia region of Romania. The administrative area is composed of four distinct villages: Balaciu, Copuzu, Crăsanii de Jos, and Crăsanii de Sus.
Historically, the territory included the village of Sărățeni. However, this village was separated from the commune in 2005 to establish its own independent administrative entity known as Sărățeni Commune.
