Hațeg is a town located in Hunedoara County, Romania. Situated in the southwestern reaches of the historical region of Transylvania, it serves as an administrative center for three surrounding villages: Nălațvad (Nalácvád), Silvașu de Jos (Alsószilvás), and Silvașu de Sus (Felsőszilvás).
As of 2021, the town has a population of 8,793 residents. It is characterized by its geographical position within the Transylvanian region and its administrative oversight of the neighboring rural communities.
