Băneasa is a borough located on the north side of Bucharest, Romania, within Sector 1. The district covers an area of approximately 0.45 km2 (0.17 sq mi) and is situated near Băneasa Lake.
Like other northern districts of the city, Băneasa is relatively sparsely populated and contains large areas of parkland bordering the Băneasa Forest. Notable landmarks within the borough include Zoo Băneasa, the Băneasa railway station, the Băneasa Shopping City, and the Embassy of the United States.
The area also hosts the Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, which primarily serves business aviation and private jets.
