Sopot is a seaside resort city located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Poland. It has a population of approximately 30,000 and holds the status of a county, making it the smallest city in Poland to possess this designation.
The city is situated between the larger urban centers of Gdańsk to the southeast and Gdynia to the northwest. Together with these two cities, Sopot forms part of the Tricity metropolitan area.
