Farcas, also known as Farkas or Farkaș, is a historical location situated in the northeastern region of modern-day Oltenia, Romania. It was historically recognized as a cneazate within the territories of the Banate of Severin and Cumania.
The settlement is primarily noted for its mention in the Diploma of the Joannites, issued by King Béla IV of Hungary on July 2, 1247. This official document granted various territories to the Knights Hospitaller, specifically designating a kenazate held by Farcas as part of the land bestowed upon the order.
