Amărăștii de Sus is a commune located in Dolj County within the Oltenia region of Romania. As of 2021, the commune has a recorded population of 1,541 people.
The administrative area is currently composed of two villages: Amărăștii de Sus and Zvorsca. Historically, the commune also included the villages of Dobrotești and Nisipuri; however, these two locations were separated in 2004 to form their own independent municipality known as Dobrotești Commune.
