Almăj is a commune located in the Oltenia region of Romania, specifically within Dolj County. As of 2021, the commune has a population of 1,792 people.
The administrative area is composed of four villages: Almăj, Bogea, Moșneni, and Șitoaia. Historically, the commune included the villages of Beharca and Coțofenii din Față; however, these two were split off in 2004 to form the separate Coțofenii din Față Commune.
