Ghirdoveni is a village located in Romania within the Dâmbovița County of the Muntenia region. It serves as one of the three constituent villages that make up the commune of I. L. Caragiale.
The commune, which includes Ghirdoveni, is historically significant as the birthplace of the prominent playwright Ion Luca Caragiale. The area was first attested in the late 15th century, specifically between 1482 and 1495, and was known by the name Haimanale until 1952.
