Baraolt is a town and administrative district located in Covasna County, Romania. It is situated within the Székely Land, which is an ethno-cultural region found in eastern Transylvania.
The settlement was first mentioned historically in 1224. As an administrative center, Baraolt governs five surrounding villages: Biborțeni (Bibarcfalva), Bodoș (Bodos), Căpeni (Köpec), Micloșoara (Miklósvár), and Racoșul de Sus (Felsőrákos).
