Șopotu Nou is a commune located in the Caraș-Severin County of western Romania. It currently has a population of 1,456 people.
The commune is composed of ten distinct villages: Cârșa Roșie, Driștie, Poienile Boinei, Ravensca, Răchita (Rekettyő), Stăncilova (Sztancsilovapuszta), Șopotu Nou, Urcu (Urku), Valea Răchitei (Rakittapuszta), and Valea Roșie (Rosievölgy).
