Ramna is a historic colonial neighborhood and thana (precinct) located in central Dhaka, Bangladesh. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka South City Corporation.
Originally the site of Mughal gardens, the area developed into an institutional hub during British rule in the late 19th century. It became a primary focal point for the modernization of Dhaka during the 1960s and served as a significant location for various tumultuous events leading to the independence of Bangladesh in 1971.
